Melissa is a licensed physical therapist and nationally certified yoga teacher who has been dedicated to sharing wellness practices with others throughout her entire adult life. Following a back injury over 20 years ago, Melissa discovered the healing power of yoga and meditation and has been a dedicated practitioner since that time. Inspired to share the benefits she gained, she became a registered yoga teacher (RYT) in 2005 and began teaching a wide variety of class styles, emphasizing therapeutic techniques and expanding access to underserved populations. As she gained more clients, she decided to obtain a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Grand Valley State University to enhance her skill set and, ultimately, be able to offer an integrative practice for those seeking to heal and recover. She’s since specialized in treating chronic pain, and pain due to past trauma. Melissa loves to travel and has lived overseas in Mexico, Bolivia, and Haiti. She’s fluent in Spanish and has enjoyed working as a translator/interpreter throughout her career.
