Integrative Touch Therapy is an individualized, holistic approach to therapy that is designed to identify and treat the greatest point of suffering.
Integrative Touch Therapy is a team based therapeutic approach that is conversational, dynamic, hands-on and energy-based. It is a practice aimed at holistically addressing physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. The recipient is held at the center of the treatment model and their higher intelligence and inner wisdom guides the direction of the session. Each Integrative Touch Therapy session begins with a simple question: “What do you most want to heal in your life right now?” The question can be reframed slightly if the recipient doesn’t relate to the word “healing.” An example of this would be, “What do you most want to (change or transform) in your life right now?”
The Integrative Touch Approach incorporates the wholeness of the human experience, reinforcing one’s innate healing intelligence. It is a form of personalized, relationship-based medicine that is uniquely customizable. Since family and community health is recognized as being integral to personal health, the approach is designed to care for the individual as well as their family and community members.
The essence of the practice lies in heartfelt, dynamic communication with the body, mind and spirit. This conversation allows the recipient to access the deepest part of who they are in direct relationship to their body in the present moment. The therapeutic process was originally named Conversation with the Body to reflect this foundational principle. The framework and guiding principles have allowed the practice to evolve over the past 20 years and the therapeutic practice will continue to develop over time. Each session typically lasts for 3-4 hours and is considered an intensive and transformative healing opportunity. Recipients are invited to take the day off after a session so they can reflect, integrate and process the experience.
Integrative Touch Therapy has been evaluated for several years in the hospital and the community. Program evaluation data shows that this approach resulted in a 56% decrease in anxiety, a 60% decrease in pain, and a 52% increase in well-being on average after each treatment session. The team based approach and the healing framework that they create are critical to these outcomes.
We offer Integrative Touch at our Healing Center, reaching thousands of people each year, transforming their lives.
