Shay Beider (00:01): From Integrative Touch. I’m Shay Beider, host of The Conversations on Healing Podcast. And this is Healing Moments. Healing Moments is a segment we’ve created to share moments of healing and wellness that you can incorporate into your everyday life. Today’s Healing moment is with Shamini Jain, who will guide us through one of her grounding meditations. Take a moment, connect with your consciousness and ground yourself with shaman in this beautiful healing moment.
Shamini Jain (00:36): Let’s engage in a grounding meditation with sound so that we can immerse ourselves with Mother Earth and foster our vitality. Why you sound, when we do grounding practice well, sound itself is consciousness. And when we connect with consciousness through our own sound making, we can literally feel the vibrations of energy in our body and connect them even more deeply with the earth. So I’m gonna invite you to do some grounding with sound with me. And the first step is just to place your hands on your belly. Breathing in, you may notice the belly coming out a little and breathing out the belly goes in, breathing in the belly goes out. Breathing out the belly goes in. So you have some nice contact here. This is important for our sound making when we make sound, we don’t want to just do it by tensing the throat, but we’re really working with our whole body as an instrument. So let’s practice making a little bit of sound first to make sure we’re really feeling comfortable and supported. We’ll start with some basic oohs.
(01:51): Ooh, ooh.
(02:13): Perhaps you feel the resonance in your belly and your lower body. Now we’re going to take the sound and make it more of an ugh sound. And this time, if it’s comfortable, I’ll invite you to feel the uh, sound in the base of your spine at your root chakra.
(02:34): Uh, uh uh,
(02:58): Now we’ll add a little bit more to the practice.
(03:01): And this time I’d like you with the sound to consciously direct your breath and your sound energy down the legs, down the feet and into the earth, so that you’re literally making contact with Mother Earth through your sound, literally fostering a connection through your own consciousness and your sound making. And we’re gonna modify the all here into the root or bee mantra for the root chakra, which is Love. Love is connected with the earth element. That’s why you probably felt it in your lower body to begin with. So here we’re going to chant lu together five times, and as we do, allow ourselves to simply sink into the earth and allow the sound to travel down the body, making that beautiful connection with the earth. You ready?

(05:03): Keeping your focus on your feet touching the ground. Feel this beautiful energetic connection that you fostering with Mother Earth and feel her energy begin to rise in you. With the energy opening up through the feet, touching the ankles, the calves, the knees, the thighs feeling, or its energy. Travel up the legs all the way to the hips, touching the bladder and the sexual organs, touching the base of the spine, the belly, touching the mid back, traveling up the solar plexus, touching the heart and the lungs, the back of the heart, touching the shoulders and the neck, the back of the head, the lips, the ears, the nose, the eyes, and the temples, the forehead to the top of the head. Feeling supported by earth’s energy, bringing your awareness to your heart center, giving thanks to yourself for engaging in the practice, knowing that your connection with Mother Earth is with you at all times. When you’re ready, if you’ve had your eyes closed, you can open them. Enjoy the practice.
